Anyway I just thought i'd ask how trekkie are you??? do u dress up in uniform and go to work in it or do other things that some might call crazy???? I guess I'm not Trekie enough to have seen Trekkers, although I probably will some day. But I'm Trekie enough to own all the movies on DVD, to be purchasing seasons of TNG on DVD, and to aspiring to owning every episode of every show some day (and to watch them all each year?!? Probably not!)
psheldrake1
Watching Startrek series is as far as I go. I wouldn't drees in a costume or go to conventions.
Duggie
I watch the shows, would like to get them all on my HDD and have gone to one convention about 9-10 years ago when it was in Salt Lake City. I also talk on here on a regular basis. Other than that I see myself as someone who likes trek but not a big trekkie. Would I go to another convention now I don't know if I would. karimw786
I've been watching Star Trek TNG since I was a kid in the 80s, and have treid to follow all the other series after that. I've watched ST Movies 7 - 10. Never been to a convention, but that's because I've never had the chance to. As for dressing up in ST costumes, no way! But I'm still a Trekkie in the sense that I LOVE all things Star Trek.
lamp
i'm a big fan, i own loads of books and hopefully when i get a desktop that i can install a few extra hard drives in, i'll download it all. i would like to go to a convention but dressing up is a bit silly unless its a fancy dress party then i'd consider being a klingon. xtremeskiing
i'm generally embarrassed by the steriotype trekkie. i wont go to conventions because i will not be seen around those who dress up as spock for casual day at work. i do consider myself a trekkie though, I love anything trek, but my interest stays in the movies, tv, games and cool things to put on my desk. I have a TNG style communicator on my desk, people frequently admire it, then question why they never knew I liked star trek, and why dont I act like the rest of the "freaks" perhaps there are more people like me (and it seems like everyone else) out there, but just afraid to be caught dead watching it. hendo001
i'd say trekkies are not freaks.......... and for all thoughs who would dress up in uniform or as a klingon and such like, a convention is the place to be..... people in the street might think ur wierd, but once in the convention centre u'd find loads of ppl in uniform or dressed as other species............. I'd bet u'd all enjoy it :p
vystral
I can see myself going to a convention, but just as myself, not in a costume. I'm Trekkie enough to load the episodes on my HD and I have all of the movies and I know a boatload of technical info about the ships. But, I've seen worse than me. Symok
lol.......... 7of9 for me oh and both female dax's lol That would be Emmerie Dax and Judzia Dax woah, hang on. don't you mean Ezri and Jadzia? come on man, at least learn their names! Also forgot about Lela (1st host, also first woman on the Trill council) Emony (3rd host, The gymnast) and Audrid (4th host, head of the Symbiosis Commission) No, I don't have all that memorized. I looked it up in the ST Encyclopedia :P As for how much of a Trekkie I am... well to start with, I have the encyclopedia  (1999 ed. for those interested) I also have a Star Trek quote book. I have all the movies on VHS, except X which is on DVD. (I will get them all on DVD eventually... waiting for a box set of all 10 directors cuts :P). I also have all of DS9 downloaded, TV rips, some of which have subtitles in some non-english languages cause they came from TV stations overseas somewhere. In late elementary school I read almost exclusively Star Trek books. I've never gone to a convention :( I did go to a Star Trek exhibit at the ROM a looong time back, though. I would go to a convention of there were any in my area that I could easily get too. And I would consider wearing a uniform if I could get one. 4-5 years or so of IRC Star Trek role playing, getting to the rank of Commander (Could have gotten my own command if I had wanted to, probably, but I don't have the creativity to come up with missions every week, plus attendance was dropping across the board by the end) Any former members of ISF here?? Finally, there's my name. Vulcan, of course :P
starscream
I love to build Star trek LEGO models. I started when i was a child and never got hooked off the stuff. Eventually i purchase many lego sets from ebay which are cheap to get my parts. Some models like the USS-EXCALIBUR NCC-1505-F took me over six months to build. (Never MInd the registration number it was never inputted in star trek) but when i was a child i built this USS EXCALIBUR and it was just a lego model 10cm long....so then as long as i played i decided to get bigger ideas...and B,C,D and E came along. I had stopped playing with LEGO star trek models some years ago and left the E put, someplace. Turns out that my mother was cleaning and she broke it, and i mean really broke it like a warp core breach had taken the whole damn ship, and i was soooo desperate that i could not fix it, that i decided to make a new one......it took me six months to find all the parts needed and another six to build it. But now it's finished and it's got more than 3000 blocks in it :) does that qualify me as a Trekkie?
bbbb
Indeed watching Trek and reading the books, and playing the computer games is as far as I go too. What's the point of wearing a Trek costume? Especially in public as many people do think that's weird still. Have you heard of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada? It's like Trektown on the prairie. They have all kinds of Trek memorabilia and statues.
