Be careful with this one. EF2 pushed the Quake 3 engine to its limits to the point that the game is often quite unstable. Anyone alse have stability issues?

Maybe it's the fact that I'm running a graphics card a hundred times more powerful than the developers had planned for...

I had absolutly no problems and i ran it on a laptop :p

Wow, lucky you. I tried for hours and was only able to get the game to run at a 'passable' level. Which is strange because every other game I have built on the same engine runs clean and smoothe. As horrible as it sounds, I had to install a fixed EXE just to get the game to run. Maybe it was a video driver compatibility issue.

They said the same thing about Jedi Academy (JA) but I never had any problems with it until I installed some of the mods for the game, downloadable from jk3files.com.

Which game would tax the Quake 3 engine more? JA or EF2?

Jedi Academy is less demanding on your system.

Elite Force 2:

Required Processor Class: Intel Pentium III Processor

Required Processor Speed: 800 MHz

Required Memory: 256 MB

Jedi Academy

Required Processor Class: Pentium III or Athlon

Required Processor Speed: 450 MHz

Required Memory: 128 MB

I found Jedi Academy loads of fun but i think Elite Force 2 was better (IMO)

What ever you say you still cant beat Elite Force 1' date=' although the graphics were better the story line was rubbish [/quote']

I never finished EF2 to tell the truth, it got boring realy fast. EF1 is indeed much better!!

About the minimum specs, they don't mean very much about "demanding on the system" (at least not the way I see it) if they are approximately in the same class (which these are). What's interesting is how the game behaves on full detail...

Anyway, I don't mean that I was right and TFMF wasn't, what I said in my post above was just a guess. If you want to know for sure, you'll have to run a serious benchmark on both of them...

Ah ok

Well i have to admit Elite Force 1 did have more to keep you entertained throughout the game but EF2 is a great game which a much better story.

POSSIBLE SPOILER:

After you finish the Borg mission and you are on Earth it does get a bit slow - but then it quickly picks up pace again once you're on the excellcior (SP?) class ship and we have the whole mystery of what these strage aliens are and why they are attacking/who is controling them.

/me loves a good story in a game :)

In the Elite Force 1 Expansion Pack - 7of9 is voiced by Jeri Ryan (They couldn't get her for the original)

Don't you mean the patch fix that you download form their site?

yea so it`s probably included in both of TFMF`s expansion pack and the patch I was speaking of.

Either way...you get Jeri Ryan in the game in the end ;)

Although I do have to say that when your play the multiplayer with EF1 I got a distinct pleasure out of shooting neelix. I guess it`s the same thing as shooting the Gungans and Ewoks in the Battlefront games.
