Linda Park: Coming Into Her Own

by Jacqueline Bundy

Rumors about the potential cancellation of ENTERPRISE have been hanging over the heads of the cast and crew all season so when UPN and Paramount made it official on February 2nd of this year it didn't come as too much of a shock to those who have worked on the series over the past four years.

Actress Linda Park, who plays ENTERPRISE'S young Communications Officer Ensign Hoshi Sato, has chosen to view the series cancellation in a positive way.

Well if you needed any more evidence that the show was never coming back' date=' it's when the actors start talking about new projects! It's like rats abandoning the sinking ship, know what I mean?[/quote']

Note that Hoshi says nothing about her contract with ENT still being intact. In fact, she seems to say the opposite!

yeah, and we'll never see them again. well, they may get picked up for a season of some new show, but after that it'll just be the odd bit part in a movie here and there. then, if we're lucky, we'll get a few st movies out of them.

Many people believe Star Trek XI will bomb at the box office, if for no other reason than B&B are still in charge.

......Not to mention the fact that it's a slap in the face to Enterprise and her actors.

Enterprise was better than DS9 and in some ways even Voyager. This is the first series since TNG where we really could not predict how the last episode would go. In DS9 it was simple, the Federation would defeat the Dominion and Dukat would be defeated. Voyager was much easier to predict, either they would get home or they would not be able to get home. Since audiences wanted a happy ending to the show it made sense that they would make it back home. The big dissapointment with 'Endgame' was that the crew didn't have any screen time back home, no happy Janeway walking on Earth to a welcome back party or Tom Paris seeing his father face to face.
