vystral
True. So I have all the movies...I like them. That doesn't mean I have costumes or posters all over my wall or whatever. I've had my ears surgically altered and had facial surgery to get that Vulcan look down pat! (just kidding) LOL. That's awesome. Care to meld? czernyman
I think I'll not watch UPN anymore! You watched it to begin with? (other than for Enterprise, of course) :D
trekfreak04
Which is again something to start worrying about and to create a spur of "wanting to take action against*" Why do you suppose they did?? :D Didn't like the concept of their industry being dissed - decided not to support it. Just like I'm deciding not to support UPN (for cancelling Enterprise) or Fox (for lots of reasons, one of which was the offensive piece they aired about Trekkers & the $3M pledge to TrekUnited!). Right On! I won't support them either, even if I could pick up the lousy stations that they aired on. They didn't have this area covered very well for broadcast. That's why I depend on NSTVN (NiteShdw's Trek Vid Network) for my entertainment. That and you get a great community and forum thrown in. Hard to beat that! elderbear
I think I'll not watch UPN anymore! You watched it to begin with? (other than for Enterprise, of course) :D Only for Trek, starting with TNG? I don't recall when I started - maybe another bit of SF occasionally or an occasional Saturday nite movie out of sheer boredom. I actually haven't seen a single episode of Enterprise 4 on TV. It's all been torrents! But now I won't watch anything! (Unless/until they have a new Star Trek series or continue with Enterprise!)
percy01
money was more important to cancel Enterprise...I don't understand this..........after a few years DVD's, TV rights, other TV series......for in the future to make more and more money. Soulreaper
Lol, a lot of great messages (as usual) while I was sleeping! Well, I can't but agree with you people...*lol* "Care to Meld"? :D Maybe the Vulcans are more "digital" than we know? Good sign of goog faith btw., Elderbear! Now I've got to eat my dinner, see you in a while!
lamp
maybe THEY are trying to kill startrek because they see star trek ideology as a threat to capitalism.
percy01
A political issue ? Not I don't think that...more money!
Finner
It must be big biz, and i'm betting that star trek makes them money...its just that in order to create one episode of enterprise vs say one episode of "The O.C" they'll make a lot more money. mic
calculate, each episode costs 1.8 million, 22 episodes cost about 40millUS$ - in any words this is big business, now TV rights abroad for the show make about 33mill per year and in US show makes at least 50 millUS$ per season, now we didn't talk of merchandising, syndication and conventions. Of course it is big business. One season of Enterprise makes more than most Hollywood blockbuster movies. But there is also a greed and gluttony when you have all this money, example UPN produces 10 other shows that are best described appallingly crap and they are hoping that Star trek will pull the ratings and help other shows. They'll relised what mistakes they'd done when they go broke in 1-2 year time.
