Cypha01
I wouldnt call The Celestial Toymaker nor The War Games "laughable parodies", but thats just my opinion. Robot and leisure hive are pretty silly, I never liked Tom Baker's era though. Paradise towers and happiness patrol are awfull but still better than the new series I think. Chris Eccleston is a great actor and I think he could of been great had he been alot darker and had a proper look to him. The Doctor is suppose to look "Out of time", Chris's costume doesnt show this, he looks like any normal bloke down the street. I also love some of Russel T Davies Other/Non-Doctor who work, I really enjoyed some of his childrens shows too just for the record, before someone calls me an RTD hater. subspatial
Yeh.. Russel T Davies said something like: "...we would have liked McGann in the first episode, but we like the idea of not seeing the regeneration..." Sylvester McCoy said: he ".. would've rathered not be in the film, but it worked out well....."
subspatial
On an afterthought... Eccelston could come back at some later stage. If Tennant leaves, they could always go for a temporaly younger Dr. ...he always did seem to know Rose alot better than he let on.................... paniq
I can understand how a darker doctor who would work. Sci Fi like BSG does work well darkly, but the BBC goes for a younger Audience. The '96 movie was edited so that it had an 12 rating. Wide appeal to a new young audience who'd never heard of Doctor who was who it was aimed at and I think it did that well. The Christmas Invasion seems to be heavily based around the regeneration, which seems an interesting choice especially as they avoided the regeneration question from the start. Fenriswolf
Regarding photographs, here's one for you: Does the Dr's image change as his regeneration, or does the picture remain the same when he's in a photograph?
Potato
I think it is implied in Battlefield that the photo does not change.
Terme
Instead of 43 min episodes' date=' I would have full one hour episodes, and twenty of them, all of them being 2-parters. I'd keep the budget the same but use an American production team instead as I feel they have a better understanding of production when it comes to Sci-fi.[/quote'] Never one of the best things about Dr who is its complete british'ness in all aspects their humour just appeals to us so much more you could never get that with an american production team even if you had britsih actors. (not dissin yanks completly I love Stargate an shows like that but they cant even stand up beside the who)

Terme
I will have to give you that point they are more experienced in that area an always produce a more realistic vision of what they want
drken
No, a picture of him would not change. Everyone who knew him will remember what he looked like before and any images of previous regenerations would look like those regenerations. Regeneration has nothing to do with changing history. It many episodes his enemies like the daleks or cybermen display pictures of him in his previous lives, and comment about how his apperence may have changed again.
