We can't lose track of the fact that the alien is in either NiteShdw' date=' TFMF, Bones2097 or Hilander72.[/quote']

Just because we were in the area of the attack, doesn't mean we are the only suspects. Remember, the alien could have beamed away, or might not even be detectable.

hmm, we haven't yet determined a clear means of transfer from one host to the next, it seems our doctor is not in the mood for much research yet ;D

in any case, if the thing ends up in your brain, I'd assume, some form of contact would be necessary if it's allways the same 'bug'.

If it's just 'laying egs' and they hatch, then it could easily transport through air or any other way...

Hade9001:  Repairs are continuing.  Food replicators and external sensors are now online.  External sensors are at 50% efficiency.

In respect of Megalith's plan that no workduty is within 10 metres of another one, this is not possible as the NiteShire is not large enough given the current crew roster.

Councilor Arktis.  Since you are cleared, well for now at least, I'll put you in charge of collating any clues we find, and making sure someone follows them up.  Can you do that?"

Arktis just looked back at Niteshdw, a bizarre grin on his face.

research, RESEARCH.....

I'm a doctor not an engineer!!!!

yet i'm stuck do repairs to this rust bucket!!

these hands were made for precision cutting... not welding a monkey wrench..

the research will have to wait!!

Tee Hee Hawwwww!

*slaps bones in the face with a glove*

* Course is plotted (on autopilot): Planet Okami, ETA 17 days 18 hours at Full Impulse.

Further Diagnostics on Communications Systems revealed, that several more burned out Subspace Relays needs to be repaired.

* Navigator Hilander72 crawls back and forth, up and down, through Jeffries Tubes repairing Subspace Relays for the next couple of hours...

Does anyone think it might be a good plan to send out a distress call? you never know someone or thing might respond to our calls and they may know more about this alien phenomenon thats on our ship.

Heads for my nearest 9001 terminal ' Computer, how long till communications are restored to 50% capacity?'

Hade9001:  Shipboard communications almost completed by Hilander72.  However a number of external transmitters still need to be manufactured by the industrial replicators.

Once shipboard communications are repaired, light speed communications - ie normal radio waves - will be .  However, this form of communication in deep space is virtually useless.  If no further communications failures detected, limited subspace communications (voice only) should be possible, with a message reaching the nearest Federation subspace relay in 12 days.

Another death in approximately 3½ hours...

Hade9001:  Repairs to Industrial Replicators continue.  15 hours work still required - excluding recreation sleep time by the crew.  Estimate  actual completion, unless all crew work around the clock in shifts, will take 22 hours.

It is noted fatigue appears to be causing errors to be made in some repairs.  Particularly Communications.

1½ hours...

Hade9001:  Repairs to Shipboard Communications complete.  External transmissions via radio are now possible.  Repairs to External communications 80% complete.  It may be possible to send a low band subspace message, however, damage to external communications arrays make this problematical.

Hilander72:  Computer.  Send this message via both radio and subspace.  Might as well give it a shot.

Hade9001:  Confirmed.

Hilander72:  Mayday.  Mayday.  This is the ESS NiteShire, en route to the planet Okami.  We have been damaged in an ion storm.  Most ship's systems have been badly affected.  Send assistance.  I repeat.  Send assistance.

We also appear to have picked up an alien life form, however, we have this matter underr-rrr-rr-r co-o-ontrolll...  argghhhhhhh!

Alone on the bridge, during the night shift, Hilander72 screams in agony part way through his broadcast, only at the last realising that there is a hole under his chin.  One that is not bleeding.  He slumps over the comms console he worked so hard to repair.

Hade9001:  Warning.  Warning.  Captain Niteshdw.  There has been another death, you are required on the bridge immediately.  Warning, warning...

Hilander72 has been killed by the alien - a fact broadcast live to the Federation...  Will they get the message in time?  If they do, what will be their response?

In 24 hours, the alien scanner will be powered up again, ready to do it's job.  But who will be scanned?

It's time to vote.

I may be out until the wee hours of the morning tomorrow night, so the scan results may be late.  Just letting you know.

Remember, every clue.  Every piece of information you can get is vital.

Well damn losing the Navigator is not good, I need to inform the captain that I am trained in navigation as are all starfleet communications officers. I even have the implant so can be hooked up directly to the computer but i am not keen on doing this preferring to navigate the old skool way. goes to the body of Hilander72 takes a transistorized device from his wallet and places it in my pocket.
