I hope a nice and good end of the Star Wars from 1977. I don't want yet to download any trailers......I will wait untill the last moment.

My expectation? Honestly, another bucket of bullshit. Episode II was a large empty SFX-balloon filled with hot air and the "someone kill him, please!" Jar Jar Binks along with "weird bouncing ball" Yoda.

Don't get me wrong, I love the old trilogy. But the new ones are just childish.

Well that's MY opinion, but you asked for it ;)

i like to describe episode II as dawsons creek in outer space, i couldn't help but laugh all the way through that movie espcialyl during the scenes with anakin and amidala. although i was surprised at how good the trailer looked for the new movie, although i don't expect much still i see a very slight possiblity the movie could be decent, although i don't think there is anyway george lucas can make up for the last two movies.

I have to say that I love my sci-fi, pretty much ANY sc-fi, but these new star wars have done nothing for me at all, special effect are ok but the acting I have to say (in my opinion) is crap.

Loved the original trilogy though, and I will probably goto the pics to watch episode 3 when it comes out, just to see how it ends.

(or is it the begining of the end) (or the begining of the begining) (or the end of the begining and the begining of the end) anyway i hope its better than the other two.

Just my rant.

Simon

P.s Jaja binks is probably the best actor in the films!!!!!!

why so much hate on jar jar? Everyone seems to wanna kill him. He was a funny dude and should stay.

I liked Ep 1 a lot, not as much as the first 3, but 2 was a dissapointment.

I think 3 should set the record straight and go out worthy of the name star wars.

well mr.lucas said it was going to be a dark movie....so ....dont expect your expectations to be as you would expect them to be or else you might expect something else and then be dissapointed in your own expectations. but i think its gonna be good to ok...i wanna see 'splinter of the mind's eye' by alan dean foster on the big screen but then again i might expect too much..

I dislike jar jar, as do a lot of people here, I read... But what bothered me the most on ep II was C3PO... Was I the only one fed up with his stupid jokes once his head got lopped off? One after another after another.... dumb dumb jokes.... I hope to god they don't turn another character I used to love and make me hate him. Oh well.

YES! C3P0 is the straight man. He's funny because he gets into fixes and can't deal with it. His puns were COMPLETELY out of character.

As far as the new movie goes ... I'm trying desperately not to get excited, but honestly, I'm getting there. I got excited for Eps I and II and was very disapointed with them ... I don't want to be disappointed agaoin.

Jar Jar sucked because it felt like he was making fun of Star Wars and science fiction. He is in THE science fiction movie series that crossed over to the regular population and they are putting a character that belongs on Sesame Street in a role with more exposure than some of the human actors.

Regular people could say "Oh yeah those science fiction guys, the believe in stuff like that Jar Jar Binks character. They are all a bunch of childish jokers".

No matter how crazy or unbelievable things in the first series were, they always seemed adult and respectable.

The second movie was just plain crap. It was so awful I fast forwarded thru half of it. The first scene where they dive thru the city? It was done 1000 times better in The Fifth Element with Bruce Willis. And Bruce was a man, an actor and he was funny.

I don't know about the new one. I am thinking that Lucas is desperate to go out with a bang. Deperate people do things that usually end in disaster. From the trailers it looks like they want to make Yoda the hero since there are no humans that can play the hero. That is dangerous. What if Yoda looks like Kermit the Frog doing swordplay?

People like action that is at least a little bit real. Actors that can sort of use the sword a little. Real people have trouble using a sword so how are puppet animators going to make Yoda use a sword believably? I guess they could MoCap a real swordsman. That could look good I suppose.

We have to wait and see. :)

Now I loved the OT but the new one is great becous you see what made Anakin turn to the dark side. And i just love that the NT goes darker and darker for every movie before it turnes aroung and follows Luke and his way to the Light side.

Now i hope that EP3 really shows Anakins downfall in a grate way and shows how his fall effects everybody around him. And its going to be cool that you see the wookees again and I hope that we would see a verry young Han Solo. I just love everything about Star Wars(dosent mather if its good or bad) so i know that this i'm going to live this movie.

I don't see a point for hating Jar-Jar... they needed a strange alien clown creature.... Even Shakespeare had a clown character in his plays.

I hope Episode 3 is good. 1,4-6 were OK. 2... welllll... I don't know what happened there...

I'm glad this thread is out because I think this is the perfect time to make comments about the upcoming EpIII, especially now that we've seen the full trailer. I can see one problem with EPIII. Anakin is

TOO YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was only 9 years old in EpI. This resulted in a very immature Anakin in EpII. If Anakin's fall to the dark side is simply because he's too young and stupid to hold himself together then there is NO TRAGEDY. Who cares whether a teenager makes a mistake and throws a hissy fit? Now if Anakin is in his thirties and has been a tried and tested, TENURED jedi before his fall to the dark side, that would be a tragedy because he was doing so well, then something big happens and he turns for some awful reason (ie his mother or Padme dying). But if Anakin kills Padme because of a childish hissy fit then its as believable as a 9 year old driving a podracer. His very young age ruined EpI and carried on to EpII as he was too young and stupid to be a great jedi and pilot.

Star Wars, I'm afraid, is turning into a kid's movie series, very unlike the quality of the OT.

Well, if you are all REALLY wondering, I suppose the best thing would be to buy the book from amazon/local bookstore like me.

I am halfway done with it, and it is a very good book. I don't feel reading the book will spoil the movie, as movies are never the same as the book, its not possible. The book goes into the thoughts of the characters, and movies don't have an easy way of doing that, and thus rarely (I can't recall one) do. As I see it, the new movie will be the best yet, to finally complete the trilogy that is the icon of Sci-Fi as we know it (Yes, more people know of Star Wars than Star Trek, at least in the US).

bbbb,

Having anakin young is good - if he was too old than surely it would mean he's evil where as from ep VI we see that he realises his mistakes and turnes good. So EpII shows that outside manipulation caused him to throw a tantrum, epIII will probably show manipulation so that he goes further down the dark side

Effectively it was circumstance and manipulation and niavity that led him down the dark side and he is brain washed to believe the dark side is the true path for the jedi (or Sith really), and only in epVI with battles with Luke he grows wise enough to see the error of his ways.
