But where is the tragedy in all of that? Who cares if he throws tantrums and hissy fits all the time? (Anakin's having one of those days...) And as for EpII being compared to Dawson's Creek, it's sad but true. Realism requires that Anakin be as old as told in old Star Wars folklore. We always pondered how Anakin would turn to the dark side, but if all it took was a little manipulation and naivity then I guess its not that bad then. Perhaps Anakin wanted to be that way all along, like a tough biker who becomes a drug addict. I do hope they try harder in EpIII to make it as believable as the OT. Luke was much more believable as a character as a 20 year old then he would be if he was 9 years old. I'd say Padme has quite a strange mind, getting attracted to a 9 year old!

bbbb, i never though about if they made anakin older. For sure that would increase the quality of a film, who wants to see teenage angst get the best of someone to become one of the greatest villians of all time??

I really think they should re-make ep I with arnold swartzenager as Anakin. It would be the damn funniest thing ever. Just pitcture Arnie saying "Yippee", "are you an angel", and "one day I vill be the greatest jedi ever!". HAHAHAHAHAHA

I didnt mind Jar Jar so much in either Ep I or II. the problem I had with Ep I was that whole 40-50 minutes that they spent on the planet when the little boy was racing. I mean sure they should have showed that he had some great abilities as a child but com'on, for almost an hour it just wouldnt end. I wanted them to get off that planet and be on their way to battle the big guys.

I kept thinking ok I got it, the little boy has great stuff.. now can we take off the space ship...

And finaly the moment came when the seth arrived just as they were leaving...and cool things started happening.;

so anyways, I found Jar Jar to be somewhat funny but not Annoying. But I did findi the 30 minutes of little kids racing quite boring--all that so they could win his freedom? I mean give me a break.. these were jedi's, they could snatch him away from that junk dealer without wasting their time and our time :)

Nowadays we have to be careful. I simply said a nine year old but the way things work today I guess I would have to specify BOY so as to not confuse Padme as a lesbian.

You never know, i mean do we really know Anakin is a boy??? Maybe in some sort of gender bending twist we find out the truth.

I do hope EpIII is good. It would be a tragedy if the movie isn't good. I agree that EpI got boring when they were on Tatooine. I also found EpII got boring during the scenes with Padme and Anakin. I have high hopes for EpIII. I made some Jedi Knight levels that made some predictions about the movie (ie the lava pit battle).

Revenge of the sith hmm' date=' i would like to see anakin beat up by Obi Wan...[/quote']

That is exactly what I was thinkin. I really don't like his character, but I guess that's the whole idea. As for Jar-Jar, I kinda liked him in ep1 but in ep2 he sucked big time!

I saw in a trailer that Palpatine was fighting with a lightsaber, now that might be interesting. I still wonder what will happen to dooku though, didn't see anything of him in any trailer.

I think I saw Dooku briefly in the trailer.. I could be wrong, but he was fighting Anakin in front of the Emperor who was sitting watching in his chair...

Personally, I think this movie is gonna be great. I'm an extremely good judge of a film's success based on the trailer... it just seems to tell me everything, and I think fans will be surprised by this film. Yes the first movie was a bit lame... altho I must confess to being thrilled by parts of it apon first viewing, but the first tale sets things up and is always going to be weaker, just like i don't like star wars as much as the empire strikes back and return of the jedi... i usually skip star wars when i'm watching the movies. Phantom was also hindered by having a little boy as one of the lead heroes. How many people are going to be interested in that!

Clones was an improvement on Phantom in my book, just as I had predicted from the trailer. But it still fell short of the mark for a star wars film. It was no worse than any other recent sci-fi picture, but it wasn't up to the high standards set by star wars original trilogy.

I don't approve of Lucas's extensive use of CGI, i think rather than giving freedom to a film maker, it can also limit them. In the sense that there are too many options avialable to you, and it's too easy to go and change entire scenes, especially if it's in reaction to a test audience!. Something is lost when actors have only a coloured sheet to work against. I know this as I am both an actor and director myself, amongst other things.

Lucas has become a little carried away with himself... the thing he doesn't realise is, it was the Limitations! on the original trilogy that made it what it was. They had to focus on the characters and storyline more, and they were breaking new ground in effects. It was such an exciting time, and the enthusiasm felt by the crew would have contributed to the success of those 3 films too. There is a distinct feeling of all gloss and no substance to this new trilogy.

Even so, I think Revenge of the Sith will be the best of the 3 new films, and will go some ways towards redeeming Lucas for his mistakes on the previous 2.

i agree with you to a point dude, but there has been far more plot development in the new three movies.

insteard of isolated situation we saw in the first three movie, we see a whole galaxy of planets and races for pretty much the first time and get a look at the politics.

i think its possible for your expectations to ruin the movies. i dont expect any of them to be like the originals or to make me feel like the originals did so i find threm enjoyable.

i have to say i loved the 2nd on and thought it was fairly well done. i cant imagine what they would have left out and still told the whole story.

if the third is better than the second them im gonna love it :D

I liked Episode I for the most part, but if it hadn't have been so draggy and filled with Jar-Jar Binks I would have liked it a lot more.

Episode II I had a much stronger dislike for, honestly. The speeder chase scenes look like they'd just ripped the city sets off from Blade Runner, a lot of the acting was questionable with the romance scenes between Padme and Anakin abhorrently acted with ridiculous dialogue...

"I don't like sand. Sand is hard. Not like you. You're soft."

Barf.

My prediction at this point... now call me crazy... is that....

*POSSIBLE SPOILER!*

Anakin will end up becoming Darth Vader.

I really hope you're being sarcastic because if you're being sincere, I may have to reach across cyberspace thump you across the head ;)

Seriously though, I have a question: I remember seeing a thread on here containing a link to a site with MANY Episode 3 spoiler pics. Anyone still the link to the site (or the thread)? I can't seem to find the thread by searching for it on the tracker.
