My name is Chris, my wife is Tiffany, my father is Richard, my mother is Susan. I'm 25, born Dec 13, 1979. I grew up in California (Garberville, a small town in Humboldt). I currently live in Utah attending Brigham Young University. I lived in Mexico for 2 years as a missionary (that's why I'm still in school). I married at age 22 to a girl I met my first year at BYU in 1998. I left for Mexico for 2 years and were married on my return. We're expecting our first child in July, a girl.

 

I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. 1 brother lives in Japan married to a Japanese girl, no children. Another is married with 1 daughter, age 1. The next brother is married with 4 kids, a boy, a girl, and 2 twin girls. The sister is unmarried.

 

My dad is a retired Civil Engineer, working for California doing bridge constructions. He was in charge of entire region of the state.

 

my mom is a homemaker with a 2 acre garden. She has 2 college degrees, Pyscology and Botany. She spends a lot of time in the garden and working on Geneology (family history).

 

I'm a computer nut, love star trek. I graduate at the end of the month, looking for a job in International Business, where I can speak Spanish (anyone have any job offers for me?).

Well what my name is should be pretty obvious :D

 

It means "Andrew" or "Andy" in English so the way my name is pronounced and spelled is the Scandinavian adaption.

my surname (or lastname) is "Ekberg" which loosely could be translated as (don't laugh now..) "Oak-mountain".

 

I'm 22 (23 this year)..oh my life story would be way too much to put in here so I'll just say that I know a lot of things and that that knowing has grown from a place of NOT-knowing - through "hard times" and "struggle" and that hasn't ended yet - actually the more I know the less I know since everything becomes very gray.

I've been a musician and a concept- "artist" (I'll use that loosely) all my life although for quite a few years I was deeply involved in business, biz-development, network marketing, marketing, sales etc. and pretty much tasted the whole scale of experience based input there is in that sector.

I've also done a lot of odd-jobs like janitorial stuff, restaurants etc in between. Some time also as a teacher in music.

Here I'm testing my abilites as a "public speaker" something extremely tough to perform where I live.

 

I was born and raised in a small town (i.e. the last outpost of civilized life in the high north of Sweden) called "Luleå" which actually means something about the place by the river or something similar in "Samiska" which is a sort of native "indian-scandinavian" people living in the top north of Sweden, Norway and Finland. We have about 80'000 people in this town and it's very nice because there's a lot of space, although the availability and the narrowmindedness are the two biggest drawbacks, otherwise it's pretty nice knowing we have the best water in the world!

 

I have an 11-year older sister and a 7year younger nephew, and I'm currently living with my parents - paying my dews in phonebills, internet, food, rent etc. since my current salary prohibits me from getting a place of my own (if I would + get a car that would force me to "stay" in place which would toughen things up and probably lead me to an early suicide so that's not an option just yet - since I find it stupid to burrow oneself in debts and payments when it's nothing I really need just yet and as long as I really can't "afford" it - although living at home is a strain in another way).

So I'm very much against the normal accepted way of life where most people tend to die in their 20's but not getting buried until they're 65...luckily being who you guys are, we're not going to see that here :D

 

Of course I'm a dead-on Sci-Fi and Fantasy freak, not to mention games, consoles, somewhat RPGs, somewhat computers, etc. but most important of all... arts in all kinds (like the stuff above)

Hey it's great! It keeps people's dreams and imagination alive!

 

un-Interesting short facts/trivia:

* One of the few ever being in $15000-20000 debt in @ 20 years of age (bizniz reasons).

* Musical equipment for a total value of $12000.

* Self-Improvement material for about $15000.

* The only player in my area playing totally custom-made bassguitars (Fretless of course)!

* Visited many countries throughout Europe starting at an early age.

* 24Mbit/S Internet connection (although I have some computer errors not making me able to utilize all just yet)

* Full of shit and proud about it.

* I don't party or drink very much alcohol these days however I do enjoy pot and on rare occations, weed, every now and then.

My name is william(21), i'm a second year physics major(who spends more time watching and reading about make beleive physics then real physics) at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Canada. Which as a city is most noted as having the largest finish population outside of Finland. So we got lots of saunas here, which is deffently one of my hobbies. We are also possibly the furthest city away from majot natural disastors. Along with saunas, I enjoy reading, and music, and watching star trek. Along with others here I abstain from any substance abuse. Although i am probably more extreme then others, and won't even have a sip of alcohol. My name is not daffy.. but out of all the goofy characters, he was my favourite followed by donald.. I guess I like ducks more than rabits and cats, dogs or mice. I used to have my own ducks and chickens. My real name is Aziz Ander. I am in my late twenties. Good enough :) Was born in afghanistan, travelled to many countries as young kid with my family, aquired a few languages before settling in the US at a young age. Since I have lived in the US the longest and US citizen, I consider myself american and hence you may have noticed I defend americans from time to time when we (americans) are all scooped up and generalized against.

 

I go to University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. And man, that illini basketball NCAA loss was a tough one for me! But they gave it a try.

I study medicine, 3rd year. As some have said above, I dont take or abuse drugs/alcohol/smoke etc. At first I was taught it was bad and now I am convinced it there is more harm in it for your health, for others health, for society than there is good. For instance it is prooven that smoking will increase your chance of lung cancer 9 : 1, but it will also burden the society in order to take care of you rather than you contributing to society to tackle such matters as poverty, and education..as discussed in some of the other threads. And of course I have one more reason to stay away from these things, which is to be a good role model for my patients whom I obviously have to tell that they should avoid using harmful substances.

And I want to become a radiologist. Not only because it is going to be the baddessttttt field in terms of diagnostics but also moving towards using imaging equipment to cure disease. Like in star trek.. you may be able to just use an imager to identify a problem as well as track it and remove it. No need for knives and pills... Well maybe a hypo spray once in a while! And this is not just a theory.. radiologists are moving in turfs that were only occupied by surgeons in the past. Alot of the biopsies these days are done exclusively by radiologists, such as breast bipsies. Radiologists use imaging such as ultrasound and real time CT (Computed Topography) to guide them in their procedures. They are already using ultrasounds to break up stones. The next innovation will be nano bots and healing wounds from a distance.. not with sutures or knives.
