Enterprise Talks Denied

Organizers of Trek United, the fan fund-raising campaign to save UPN's canceled Star Trek: Enterprise, are telling fans that they are in secret discussions with Paramount representatives about keeping the show alive, and that the reps have left open the possibility the show may return. But a spokesman for Paramount denied to SCI FI Wire that such talks are taking place, adding definitively: "That is not true. The decision to end the show is final."

finally...

I'm wondering if they are really going to return all the money they achived after it's over. I bet they will spread one rumour after another just to keep the money with them as long as possible.

I'd say they'd have to, or face a lawsuit..........

Here's something for you..........

Hey all--

I am the New Editor of SCI FI Wire and the person responsible for the story on today's site about the Trek United campaign. I see there are some concerns about the story's credibility. I am available to answer questions if you have them here, or you can e mail me directly at patrick.lee@nbcuni.com, and I will respond to you as I can.

I can assure you that the source with whom I spoke was in a position to speak for the company, but it is common journalistic practice not to name sources who speak only on condition of anonymity. As that was the case here, I'm afraid I can't identify the person with whom I spoke.

If officials of Trek United would like to identify the people with whom they are having conversations, I could do a follow up story that confirms their assertions.

In any case, I'm glad you all read SCI FI Wire.

Cheers,

Patrick Lee

News Editor
