To Elderbear: I'd love to give you some hair and a cleaver - ought to keep you occupied for hours ;)

And I just got a haircut - Darn! Which Cleaver do I get? Beaver, June, or Eldridge?

Not only do I know whether "anal retentive" is hyphenated or not, I also know when it is and when it isn't.

B)

And yet, as I asserted, "Normal" is the whole Bell curve, the entire population.

Elderbear: 1

Oma: 0

But that's OK. You've got "love," I've got the "loneliest number."

Did I miss anything?

Yes the cost.

Clean usable water is being depleted much faster than nature or man is recharging it. If this is something we can fix, then why haven’t we? (Hint: cost)

Right now, even with cheep oil power, more than 1 billion people lack access to clean drinking water. Why is that? (Hint: cost)

What is the ongoing action? Why, that’s quite simple, the market/private sector is acting all over the globe to privatize water. Not to provide more, but to control what is left. Why is that? (Hint: cost)

Nuclear power in not now, never has been, and very well may never be, cost effective. Even with HUGE subsidies, not a single new nuclear power station has been ordered since 1978 in this country. Why is that if it is “The Answer (Hint: cost)

Saudi Arabia intends to spend $50 billion on water projects in the next 15 years just to meet existing demands. How many of the worlds thirsty developing nations are going to do the same thing? (Hint: cost)

What’s life worth?

As to the ecological effects of draining lake Michigan to use as irrigation, I won’t even bother, that’s just silly talk.

The problem with all of this is when biomechanical use gets confused existential value. This insistence on phrasing the issue in terms of value and norms funnels thinking into to a limited, mechanistic awareness; It's a yellow brick road to fascism.

I hope that is a joke. Otherwise, I completely fail to see your rationale behind such a decision. I have been ignoring the thread because I see the discussion as pointless. I don't care if other people express their opinions, you certainly don't have to agree or even READ them if you don't want to.

I just fail to understand how you can equate "gays are disfunctional" with "I'm not going to seed any more torrents".

Maybe you can explain it to me? In the mean, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.
