that was my bad.....starting the other thread before the official thread came out....i'm sorry and did not mean to step on anyone's toes. i knew that nite was busy working ion the encode to get this fine ep out for all to see and i just couldnt wait to see some of the feedback from the ppl who got to see the full ep (especially after all the slams it took before being aired). i thought it was really great and shows what could have been done with the show if SOMEBODY had handed over the reins a couple of seasons ago. once again i do apoligize for jumping the gun on the thread...(douses head in gasoline and sets it on fire)

I really liked the episode. It was exciting from the beginning.

I also thought what is up with the intro..but soon I realized it must have something to do with the fact that this is an enterprise from another time.

Someone mentioned the TNG episode where everyone loses their memory and they think they are part of a federation at war. But this episode was very very similar to a TOS episode. I forgot what the name was but in that, there is an alternate Universe where Kirk and the whole crew are always attempting mutiny. They all have security guards of their own.

And somehow The real kirk from the right universe ends up at the wrong universe and he has to act 'bad' just to fit in..and the bad kirk ends up on the right enterprise. That was a very interesting episode.

I would suggest for everyone to see that TOS episode before seeing the next enterprise next week. The end plot is different but the story is 80% identicle..and of course William shatner does a great job both as the bad captain and the good captain.

Not your fault. I figure that the first thread should start it.. because we all get Enterprise at different times so why wait all night? ;)

Nite is creating those "official Threads" since a few weeks and they are becoming a nice tradition which should not be broken B)

I think this episode was okay... it didn't shine, but it wasn't bad either...

Enterprise did look very bad-*ss with the yellow striping...

btw, I wonder, were the credits different too, as the opening tune was, because the Niteshdw rip only had the altered opening? Just curious. :)

I liked the episode because it seems very much like the TOS episode Mirror, Mirror which I always liked; I agree that Bakula never comes across mean.

In addition to the mirror universe they have added a temporal factor which I think should make for a great 2nd part.

p.s. My power went out ( storms ) 28 minutes into the episode - how did we ever live before computers :)

I think the biggest character change was in Porthos :cyclops:

LOL yeah Porthos certainly got his mean streak mojo working

I thought this was a fairly prophetically realistic episode,

Aliens land, humans shoot them and boost their ship, hmmm who couldn't see that coming lol

The depressing thing is I can see this as a much more realistic future scenario

All in all it ran like a Babylon 5 plot, a show that never had any illusions about humans basic nature

Thoroughly enjoyed the episode and cant wait for part 2

BTW loved the women's uniform top, now if they just import the bottom uniform half from TOS it will be perfect :p

Yes I thought this ep was quite good .... If you ask me we should have watched the parrelel episode's not the normal ones; The rise and fall of the terran empire........ Could be quite interesting. And more plausible...... ( you would honestly think we would be peacefull.... I'll bet there's oil on vulcan )

who knows, it would be nice to see a season of the dark universe. the terran empire taking over. but backula needs to actually get mean, ya know kill a few people in cold blood. long live the empire.

TO BOLDLY GO AND ENSLAVE ALL IN OUR WAKE. :cyclops:

If you didn't notice i really liked the episode.

Let's just say you can forgive the poor acting, the shady CGI, the cheesy attempt at boosting ratings with the promiscuous women, and the inconsistencies which I'm sure many can point out (I can't though). Let's just say you can overlook all these flaws. Let’s just say you can completely ignore them.

Then what are you left with? A floating piece of dung.

I'm sorry, but I liked all the Enterprise episodes to date, until Bound came along and started this trend of poor storytelling, which seems to continue. From all the multipart arcs in all of Star Trek I've ever seen, this is the first two-parter which I am not anxious to see the second half of, at all.

I am so disappointed.

*sigh*

I thought the episode was fine, some of the same acting complaints as others had. My biggest issue is, with a handful of episodes left, I don't want this filler after filler. Bound was good, at least you got some interspecies understanding, but this episode isn't even in the same universe. Don't get me wrong I love the whole mirror universe thing, but the show is straddling over the birth of the **cking Federation, and they give us mirror universe. Then, to add insult to injury, they do this right after they cancel our beloved show.

P.S. Finally seeing a Tholian does almost make up for it, though the CGI looked like something out of TNG.

P.S.S. In this mirror universe, failure is not tolerated(obviously) so to take the ship, lock on target, get the admiral on your side, and have the captain you just mutinied against carry out the mission with the responsibility of catastrophic failure on his head. That is some Palpatine level of planning and nothing more than genius(explaining why so few get why he did it).

Oh one thing I have to point out which I am disapointed in is the firefights. Even with the empire enterprise (probably made entirely for battle rather than exploration) they were hardly able to fight a decent battle.

This is the second or third time I see enterprise get beaten up with little ability from enterprise. If it was going to blow up, at least they could have taken 1 or 2 of the other ships with them in a fight fight.

I dont know if I am the only one but so far all I see is that enterprise can beat up on a small 1 man ship and the other times it gets over powered very easily.

Here is how I would have written the ending of this episode:

Enterprise gets caged in the electric field (whatever it was) Cage. They have a brilliant second engineer (which they dont for some reason) unplug the cloaking device in 12 seconds before they are crippled. They are stil caged in, they fire fight and destroy one of the ships, then they make a dash for it and break through the cage. At this point the plating is gone and they are down to 30% reserve power. Some parts of enterprise are on fire and everything is shaking, losing gravity and some other systems. The captain, hoshi and some of the other well trained bridge crew try to maintain enterprise while stil fighting with 5 or 6 other ships. They manage to destroy one more but finaly get completely crippled at which point the core is going to breech! The captain orders the ship to be abandoned while he stays behind and try to distract the enemy while the crew escaped in escape pods. He programs the computer to fire every torpedo or canon it has towards the enemy.

At this point they could have switched to the Defiant where they watch the enterprise gets destroyed...

In Lt. Worf's words, "that would have been a glorious way to go"!

hmmm.. if I just spend a day I could write a whole episode that would probably at least top the Bound episode. ;)

:p

Feel free to write your own ending.
