tronx
Excellent truly excellent episode i just had to watch it twice i most enjoyed the dort of mirror of everyone on the ship. All the way down to the uniforms and the ship itself a total mirror enterprise i loved it i wished they didnt cancel the show but what are you gonna do. I also like the way phlox was mirrored that was especially funny the way he cared about his patients and his disections. One funny part was replacing archers dog with a rot that was so funny. If you ask me they acted more like klignons. The plot at first was a little hard to follow with all the double crossing and such. The woman however were okay but they showed a bit to much to fast they were extremely slutty and those outfits were a joke especially t'pols. I have to admit though they were entertaining. The torture chamber thing was a little weird though. Also the ship they went after looked way older and less anvanced than the enterprise was but the older style bridge took me back to the old days with cpt. kirk i would've been cool to she him lying around there on the floor on the bridge though. I cant wait for part two i hate "To be Countinued" episodes .

grillguy85
Here is how I would have written the ending of this episode: Enterprise gets caged in the electric field (whatever it was) Cage. If the warp nacelles on Voyager were designed to stabalize the warp field, then this " cage" you refer to is known as...... gregC
The intro section seemed good for a mirror universe type setting, although given a mirror universe, would WW3 have happened if everyone wanted peace not war? ;) and would that still lead up to Montana? Also if the 'Terrans' gained posession of a Protoss Vulcan ship, they could possibly take advantage of the rest of Vulcan empire with some newfound insights on shipbuilding and their weaknesses, invading Vulcan itself and doing some damage using their own ship (Independence Day :D)... anyway enough of that sb played an nice part imo, the script for him was interesting, but he did ham it up when the script called to look angry for no reason other than to be mean, as opposed to the rest of ent where the script would lead naturally to him being angry and he could pull it off... forrest was done pretty well, interesting how instead of being the willing giver/overseer of all starfleet orders, he ended up being the unwilling recipient of all of them hoshi had nothing major in her script except to further the "get ahead at all costs" motto t'pol as a spy seemed like some sort of homage to voy ;) Getting a vulcan mutiny of what, 3 people, was funny to me for some reason as well as messing with trip's mind... (hey- some things don't change even in a mirror universe) reed and phlox had good sinister characters, jb doing a niiice job with his char, "taking pleasure in his work" mayweather as a maco means he has like 3 lines and doesn't talk after then, which really suits him like nearly every other ent episode if t'pol being a spy was paying homage to voy, then the alien cgi was paying homage to tng terran ship cgi reminded me of that game I-War (independence war) with fleet ships having stripes and graffiti over their hulls The cliffhanging was done a bit late... hey guys lets blow up the ship! dun dun duuh *dramatic pause* yeah now what... oh "to be continued". The suspense of wondering what will happen next is a bit lacking, except for the like 7 crew stuck on the bridge of def. I'm just hoping for a random happy ending in part II - all of this being a bad dream of Riker who just woke up. The season 4 plotline can therefore sensibly continue into Terra Prime. TOS DEFIANT SET WAS AWESOME ahem oh man what a rant, sorry
vtallbloke
Well i thought that right from the intro (war one) this was great. Although as some people posted, the acting in places was weak, but I thought overall great story, and great episode................... Anxiously waiting for the next
Taz
but they showed a bit to much to fast they were extremely slutty and those outfits were a joke especially t'pols. Okay, you're not the first to say that so it begs the question: What is wrong with you people? Sex is a tool in storytelling. You can use it tastefully, or you can use it like a 2 year-old would use crayons - smear them all over the place. Star Trek is renowned for it excellent storytelling and keeping up its quality. If you want to watch cheap meaningless uninvolved PG13 sex on TV, I'm sure there are two dozen "reality" shows that can fulfill that need. I believe Star Trek can have hot chicks and flaming romances, and lots of em, but all in good taste.
synexo
Bear in mind the budget they have to work with - the CGI is considered better "spent" on vessels and phaser fights. I'm pretty sure back in the TNG days, they still used like filmed actually real physical models for the ships.
smokinmasta
Thought was a good episode myself - alternative T'pal was yummy, as someone said earlier with Hoshi and her dressed like that it might have pulled a few more viewers!! Smokin........

Oma
I love the scene where Cochran tries to do that hand thing but decides to shoot the vulcan instead! Just seemed comical, somehow. And Hoshi: Grrrrrrrrr! (not her outfit, really - but the way she acts!) I like the episode and the high bodycount - a nice change from "little goody two-shoes". cymrugirl
I just did not buy archer as evil, he has used extreme measures before (or just threats of them) to try and get info. I did not like the stupid yellow paint on the ship, but i did like the symbol, the sword through the globe. And hoshi - what a little slut she is in the mirror universe, and as for t'pol in that rather revealing outfit it did not look as if she had hips, though she did have a rather long torso, weird. synexo
Hey, when they transported the Tholian aboard, Archer ordered him to be 'transported to the de-con chamber'. Unless I'm mistaken, isn't that a site to site transport, which was not ever done in TOS, and was considered technically difficult in TNG?

bbbb
Poor Tholian, he was so funny-looking. Hoshi is indeed the evil slut in this episode, hopefully she dies doing what she loves, sleeping and smootching with the captain. There was too much inuendo in this episode. That was funny when Cochrane shot the friendly Vulcan. Anybody notice how the mirror universe looks so military-like? If we let the military be in charge this evil stuff might happen, like it did in Nazi Germany. Why didn't Forrest just kill Archer when he had the chance? He seemed to accomodate Archer throughout the whole episode. Archer really did a bad job at being evil in the first part of the episode, he frowned too much. Hopefully T'Pol gets killed off too for betraying Archer. That would be funny to see Archer order that both Hoshi and T'Pol be killed. Would commanders so worried about their command sleep with members of the crew? I doubt it and I think it contributed to Forrest's lack of command authority when he was deposed. No kissing was required in this episode! I say again there was far too much inuendo in this episode! I agree with this episode smelling of the 'Voyager Effect', but may request some clarification about what this term is?
bbbb
Watching Nite's version of this episode I find the epaulettes very militaristic, violent for Star Trek in general. They really emphasize rank and status over other people's lives, which appears to be the way the military works.
vyper
Just to make sure, you do all realize that was a body double that made the shotgun scene? You never see cochranes face once we move past the scenes from First Contact.
starcrunch
I really liked this episode and I am generally not a fan of this series. I thought Archer should've had the trademark beard that Spock had in TOS to signify his mirror self, although this has been a parody for many other series , South Park for one , I still think they could have done it to be campy. str82u
I couldn't help myself, so like a child picking a scab I watched instead of waiting till next week to watch both episodes. I liked it, it was different and dark and very insideous. I agree with bbbb that Cochrane blasting the Vulcan was hilarious, what a start too. From that scene I knew it would be a great action episode, though there could have been more.
sirdick
I've just watched it and thought it was brilliant. Some of the acting was a bit cheesy, but Phlox was ace. I'm still wondering why they dress up in the next episode?
