ENT: Enterprise - 4x18 - In a Mirror, Darkly

I've just watched it and thought it was brilliant. Some of the acting was a bit cheesy' date=' but Phlox was ace. I'm still wondering why they dress up in the next episode?[/quote']

The reason that they dress in the old TOS uniforms is simple. They boarded the Defient wearing spacesuits. When wearing something like that you do not wear a regular usiform underneath ti would be too bulky as probably was not designed for the user to be wearing anythign more then undergarments. Hence with life-support powered up they are going to need some new threads.

Looks like In a Mirror, Darkly is our favorite this season!

I recognized something strange in the new first contact-scenes:

When Cochran shot the Vulcan, the other Vulcans stand still and did nothing... then this creepy guy shouted that the people should board the ship and they shot the other Vulcans that still stand in the Entrance of their ship!

How stupid must these Vulcans be ;-)

I usually get into these new Star Trek Series When they get syndicated, so I might otherwise know this question,

Has there ever been an explanation as to why the Klingons look so different from TOS, other than Worf's Comment that it was a long story.

Other than that I love this new episode, It's usually an ep such as this which ends up drawing me into the series. Too bad it's almost over. Still "In a Mirror Darkly' has it's conflicting ideas on canon ( Like the Tholians putting together thaeir web in seconds flat) but all in all I enjoyed it.

to answer your question about the klingons check out 4x15 and 4x16 "affliction" and "divergence" thost two tell the tale of the forehead ridges that appear and disappear......

I don't have time for that. At one point the Klingons from TOS were written in as a "class" of Klingon, or a subjugated race. Is that what they called 'em?

*past spoiler*

In Enterprise, basically there were human "augments" that were basically like genetically enhanced superhumans. They could even beat Klingons without even trying. So the Klingons tried to make their own, and it basically turned into a virus that the first stage would have some of the effect of mutating Klingons to look more human (since by "make their own" the Klingons basically tried to modify the human augment stuff). Anywho, a cure was made for the "virus" but it left the infected Klingons human looking. And the human traits I guess were dominant, though you wouldn't think so. Anywho, it lasted many generations.

The real reason is a makup budget, but shhhh.... don't tell anyone. ;)

NOW I kninda figured otu WHY they cancelled Enterprise, AFTER fixing the show to what the fans want...

These 2 mirror eps are going to be the series' PEAK episodes.. So they're going to cancel it AT the peak because now, nothing will measure up to it.

BUT, here's what I'm thinking, they've proven their set design CAN match what stuff looked like back in the 60's, and the capability of making it look real enough to do it justice..

SO I say, why not make the next TV series set in the TOS era? Just use another ship like they did with voyager...

I think that would be nice series to watch...

Now about Whore-shi? c'mon, the ship's slut? Wrong use of the character I think... (>sniff sniff< but I smell her taking over the Defiant A LA Mirror Sulu tho...)

For Trip... He should have had half a mask or somthing covering his face, then a dramatic removal of the mask to scratch and itch or something, then talks about the Delta Radiation...

I wonder if they have "Agonizers" though... not just the newly invented agony booth...

Dr. FloX? can we say OVER THE TOP?

still.. I GEEKED when I watched the ep, TOTALLY GEEKED.. I hadn't geeked over star trek in a VERY long time... Like in about 10 years.. well maybe SLIGHT geeking, over certain eps over the years, but never a full on one like I had with ep 18.. I'm sure that ep 19 is gonna be the one that PEAKS the Enterprise series, and I guess they knew that... Nothing will measure up and it'll be done going out on their peak...

I thought the explanation for the Klingons was put together really clumsy. It was much better having it be eluded to as a mystery, but known to be just bad special effects. Good lord I hope they don't go trying to explain why all the controls in TOS was blinking lights.

this is a late note from me. seeded the eppisode for ages.

There is only one major thing i noticed, thats the spech/video difference, i dont really mind this as i accept that nite is doing a fine job releasing the eppisode to 175mb quality.

keep up the good work.

Now to epp:

I found that the storey line was interesting but there was a few moments of bad writing/acting. why is the mirror archer still very much like the normal archer?

shouldnt he be destroying the first thing that moves rather than keep it alive and solve things diplomaticly?

otherwise ok epp, hope second is better...

Are we still talking about the first half?

Tonight is the night we get to see the conclusion and boy am I ready. I think the synopsises and trailers I've seen have pretty much told the rest of the story, but is this the episode where Trip dies? or is that supposed to be a regular universe death?

Gee. I wish I hadn't read this post. Didn't know about Trip. I was staying away from spoiler stuff like previews and such so I could be surprised...especially since it's pre-empted in NY tonight by the Yankee game (@%#*%&@%!). Sure hope it ends up here so I can DL later tonight.

You didn't see the warning on page one, eh? Sorry about that, I try not to let people know about Santa not being real too, but, eek, I did it again.

I still haven't seen the second half of the episode, so at least I have that to look forward to. Hopefully switching trackers repeatedly doesn't screw up the file.

I didn't go to page one to see the warning because the topic wasn't about 4x19...I went right to the last page from the quick link on the right hand side of the topic listings. I saw someone had recently posted and wanted to read it. No worries though, no biggie, no harm done. Hope you managed to get the episode alright.

BTW...I knew about Santa..found out last week ;)

It was ratings and bad writing that killed the show.
