Mine came from where I work (IBM). I've since changed positions there but I used to work in a section called c4evap. We manufactured 200mm wafers (those things where all those little ittybitty chips come from that go into high-tech stuff).

Mine came from an old career choice that went down in flames. I once believed that I wanted to be an Air-Traffic-Controller, so much so in fact, that I actually attended the FAA ATC Academy in Oklahoma City for a very brief time. Let's just say that it didn't work out (Those Simulators are brutal) but the nickname has just sort of stuck with me over the years.

Nice Avatar Sebs

(You should edit your post to reflect the past tense)

I don't remember exactly HOW I came up with mine... but it was WAY WAY WAY WAY back... I have a journal from when I was in elementary school that I signed "NiteShadow". I used that name on the old BBS scene back before the Internet became widespread. I used it when I played "Doors" (online games run on a BBS, like TradeWars).

So, that must have been about 12-15 years ago (When I was about 10 or 12). I think I just sat down and tried to think of something cool and used Nite instead of Night.

So, I used NiteShadow on everything, except on IRC. IRC would only permit 8 characters back then for a nick, so I had to shorten NiteShadow down to NiteShdw. I guess I keep using it because it's short and easier to type than NiteShadow.

More history... I started doing the 175mb encodes after being involved in the IRC scene with CHerron (who releases 80mb Enterprise eps). I discovered torrents there, and decided to make my own encode. Since I needed a way to distinguish mine from CHerron, I just added my IRC nick (NiteShdw) to the end of the episode's filename.

And now you know the rest of the story.

I'm curious. I've download a few 350MB (taken from the 8GB ones), how do the 175MB and the 80MB files compare quality wise?

WAHAHA 娃哈哈 aww, looky the 2 little houses...

Chinese for baby laugh, and also a bottled water brand name. Since my second name in China was wawa, and I drank a lot of that damn water. I'm NOT Chinese.. I just made some stupid words up one night in front of my gf family, and little did I know wawa meant baby. So the name stuck.

quos ego is latin...... the exact translation in dutch is: ik zal ze...

But that can't be translated in to english without losing it's meaning and not correctly translating the original. (to much languages in my head aaaaaaaah)

But if someone has an proper translation.. i'll be happy to hear it.

It's really subjective. BTW, there are no 8GB torrents for Enterprise... so you must be thinking about a different show. I recommend that you download the BTEFNET 350mb version and the 175mb version and compare for yourself. Quality wise, it's clear that the 350 is superior, but some people like to trade off quicker download + less disk space (or 4 per CD). The same goes for the 172mb TNGs vs. the 350mb TNGs.

That was probably in reference to the 8gig season one torrent Elderbear upped about a week ago, all of Enterprise - Season 1, at 350megs.

My nick, is derived from my middle name (what I go by). It is from an old High School nickname a few people called me years ago. It is based on the Cival War General, and not that car on Dukes of Hazard. I decided years ago, to go ahead and use it, in online arenas such as this.

Mine from a commercial for margerine (Oma).

There was this frase in the commercial: "Sig navnet - Oma"

which means "Say the name - Oma".

What it started with was me trying to find an original name for a hotmail account (for registering with in this forum). I can never settle for an email called 'something231@....' so I ended up with sig_navnet@hotmail.com - then the Oma part was kindda obvious. To me, at least.

I use Tronx for my logon on some sites but most of the time i go by my favorite logon xron18x but im also known to go by cron18x,and Tronx111. There is no reason why i chose this for an online name i just though one up and i have been using it since then.
