BTW, there are no 8GB torrents for Enterprise... so you must be thinking about a different show.

That was probably in reference to the 8gig season one torrent Elderbear upped about a week ago, all of Enterprise - Season 1, at 350megs.

Enterprise.Complete.S1.PDTV-rips.FOV.Xvid(hunted).torrent

Exactly.

c4evap B)

PDTV files are TV rips, not HDTV rips, so even though they are 350mb, they won't be as good quality as the 350mb rips from HDTV (Onyl Season 3+ is avaialble in HDTV)

I wonder what resizing filter they use (if at all) when they broadcast HDTV shows on regular TV... maybe it's better than the filter you use to resize your HDTV captures?

Anyway, about a week ago this was posted on Torrent-Damage:

Star.Trek.Enterprise.S01.WS.AC3.DVDRip.XviD-MEDiEVAL

It’s 9.18 GB. So I guess now there's another source for ripping... I wonder if the extras were simply omitted or maybe they never existed on the DVD in the first place?

A HDTV-HR torrent of season 3 followed by season 4 would be nice... They shouldn’t be THAT big... only about two torrents of 8 GB per season. Oh HDTV-HR... *drool*

I changed mine into this; and it's not too hard to see / read what it is...

I started using it many many years ago as an internet nick for ICQ, IRC etc. and it just stuck on I kind of liked it so here it is.

My old nick was actually my name Andreas (Andrew or Andy in English).

More history... I started doing the 175mb encodes after being involved in the IRC scene with CHerron (who releases 80mb Enterprise eps).

I'm curious. I've download a few 350MB (taken from the 8GB ones), how do the 175MB and the 80MB files compare quality wise?

It's really subjective. BTW, there are no 8GB torrents for Enterprise... so you must be thinking about a different show. I recommend that you download the BTEFNET 350mb version and the 175mb version and compare for yourself. Quality wise, it's clear that the 350 is superior, but some people like to trade off quicker download + less disk space (or 4 per CD). The same goes for the 172mb TNGs vs. the 350mb TNGs.

old school tolkien fan.

you thought sauron was a bad@$$ you should meet his teacher.

btw... i have season 1,2, and 3 in the 8gb torrrents they do exist, they are being converted to dvd as i type.

Just to clear up the 8GB misunderstanding. I misspoke when I stated it was Enterprise I had downloaded. It was Voyager. Sorry for the confusion fellas. Guess I had Enterprise on the brain...duh...

My nickname is my real life nickname also.

Got it at high school and it's related to my surname. :)

Imagine someone who's surname is Fredricsson and he gets a nickname by it - Freddie or Fred :)

Hmmm, some interesting ones some not...

Mine was thought up years ago, before we even had internet at home... I was 14 or so i guess when i really discovered that math is the only universal language we have in this world and so i thought i'd incorporate it in a nickname: HoIoH. in every aspect it's symetrical no matter how you turn it. And the fun i've had getting people to pronounce it!

anyway, my real name Jochem Slob <- not real charming to go by in a society that's mainly based on the english language...

Anyway, i really need to put my Slob Inc. avatar on the web one of these days ;)

I've used the nickname almost everywhere on the web and i found that it's unique, there's two people using it right now, me and a friend of mine, who only uses it as an email account because his old one expired... but search google and all you'll find is my old crap hanging around all over the place :D

greetZ/> Hoioh Aka 'The Slob'

quos ego is latin...... the exact translation in dutch is: ik zal ze...

How about: I'll get 'em...

But that's translating latin to dutch and then dutch to english... i'm not certain if you can do that......

xtremeskiing, it was my aol screen name when the 16 letter sn's first hit beta (at the time I was a beta tester). I guess I kinda grew into it as a took up a career in skiing many many years later.

Now it's me, kinda have a reputation for taking skiing to the x. Not that x game stuff you see on TV, more the stuff you don't see cause watching someone ski off a rock face or tucking a 65 degree bump run isn't all that exciting, although that tape of me skiing down the stairs to the locker room that drunken night is pretty popular.

Edit: Oh, I should mention that I was thong man that night, I wore a thong on my head the entire night. Boss wasn't too thrilled the next morning.

I typed 'Synthetic Exobiology' into the AIM screen name suggestion tool and out popped SYNEXO. I thought it nifty as it represented my original idea, kinda means 'with outside' in a prefixy suffixy way. Also I was trying to find something I could use on Yahoo, Gmail, AIM, and yafro, that didn't have any damn numbers. Interestingly synexo.com is some strange globalization company.

Got mine from my home land, Soviet Union. I used to play Red Alert 2 a lot, and I was near unbeatable playing as any Soviet force.

And it has a certian shock factor (antiquated now mind you) that really had a way to irritare middle aged Americans (No offence now)

I'm not sure why I added the numbers in there. Think it had something to do with wanting something that looked like a backwards E to make it look more crylic. Then I got all l33t and carried away.

Hi, my first post here.

I got my logon from my first registered BT site, LokiTorrent. Since the owner called himself "Loki", I figure that I might as well pick one of the deity from the Norse Mythology... And I choose "Thor"-- The god of thunder.

The number 999 is the upside-down of 666, a hint that I am being mischievous for partaking in P2P activity.

Ive used the nickname Antilles since I was 9 years old as we were neighbours in Edinburgh at the time with the Lawsons, for those who know Denis Lawson played Wedge and I was so impressed (like all 9 year olds would be) with Wedge instead of Luke, Han etc I used to run round either as a Dalek or flying like Wedge. Then when I got into computers and gaming later in life, then the internet I stuck with Antilles. The RS is just my old gamer clan Rogue Squadron (but now its usually FBAntilles as Im with Fantomu Bushi clan)

Mine is from my now neglected website, str82u.net.

I was doing a bit of online counciling and Q&A at a site called Askme.com, and one of the most asked questions was finding people and records for free. Well, I got really good at it and instead of pasting all the sources, I started a website to send people to the information. Instead of just a link site to search engines and pay-for-information sites, I wanted to get people right where they needed to go, for free if possible and cut out any hoo-ha from profiteers- free info and internet searches - Straight To You.

It took a minute or two to come to that short name, but the information Superhighway and licence plates came to mind and BLAM Str82u. The domains I've owned using this I dropped and all were bought by yaks, one company claims Straighttoyou.com is worth $18,800 US, blah...

I'm commiting to the site again (It still gets about 5000 hits a month even though I lost all the direct links), that's why I have a new avatar.

Pella is the female name I have chosen for myself, since I din't like the female version of my male name. I took it from the greek Pela and added the extra 'l' to make it sound more like Bella - it just makes it a little more unique.

The greek is a variant of pelegia which means sea, but I since found that Pela is polish means duck. I find this more appropriate since I feel like an ugly duckling trying become a beautiful swan lol
