coolcat13
I figured that I would kick off the new thread although it seems like a let down this week after last weeks stirring episode. Now the question here is what will Adam be doing as a new companion of the Dr and is this truly just a short stint for him on the TARDIS. this looks like it may not have much to do with the time war and maybe that is a good thing .releasing just enough of that theme to keep us intrigued with out wearing us out . lastly will there be another Bad Wolf reference in this episode ? Antilles
If there is a reference to Bad Wolf I hope its another subtle one instead of in yer face blatantly obvious. According to the websites Fear Factor feature it receives 4 out of 5 for scariness so it may be a pretty exciting episode, possibly even better than Dalek story-wise. Also do you know weve passed the half way mark for this series, cant believe its gone so fast. (by half I mean 6.5 weeks out of 13 eps). Mind you, I suppose it brings us closer to the cliff hanger quicker than ever hehe!

roach
Now the question here is what will Adam be doing as a new companion of the Dr and is this truly just a short stint for him on the TARDIS. According to the cast lists at, e.g., Planet Gallifrey, Adam will leave in ep. 8 ;-) The only 'fixed companion' ATM is Rose, who will, it seems, also accompany Doc10. Antilles
Is episode 13 gonna end with a cliffhanger? (Correct answer = NO!... please?) I think RTD would probably be nuts not to end a season without a cliff hanger. Especially with a new Doc coming in Season 2 (28)
proffart
Hes already said the season will end in a cliff hanger on the Beeb.
proffart
Just having a guess here but I reckon that the episodes from now on in will all have a 'Time War/Bad Wolf' reference in them growing in strength as we progress.

Pella
The thing that's sticking in my mind before watching the episode is that Simon Peggs character is called 'the Editor'. 2 thoughts, 1st: This is exactly the sort of name that gets attached to Timelords (The Doctor, The Master, The Rani, The Minister of Chance) 2nd: From what i can gather the plot revolves around a television station controlling the human Empire. Does this sound like the 'The natural history of fear' Big Finish audio to anyone else. After all even Rob Sheraman has said that 'Dalek was a reworking of 'Jubilee' from that range

Antilles
Posted this by mistake in the Bad Wolf thread. ....Pretty standard Who story tonight I thought. Alright but nothing fantastic. Best bit was the last 5 mins when Adam was 'dumped', hehe didnt like him at all. Mind you I did like the 'vomit-o-matic' Wouldnt mind one of those myself. Typical RTD, long useless names that well never remember in a hurry, just like the looong planet name where the Slitheen came from, why cant he come up with something shorter and more memorable. :) This has become my least favourite story so far Im afraid. Pella
It wasn't the greatest story of these, but by no means the worst. I definitely like the improvements in the Doctor, himeself. Chris has really began to to relax into the part. Did anyone spot any reference to Bad Wolf. I didn't notice anything. Mind you, I've just finished watch Dr Who Confidential and near the end RTD said more will be revealed about who 'installed' the Jagrefess (spelling?) in Station five, so it wasn't just 'Bankers' as the Editor mentioned. It was nice to see the Face of Boa in the background as well. OMG, she's pregnant. Little heads will be running around soon. Does anyone think there could be a connection with 'Bad Wolf'? Best of all we didn't see the Editor get killed, so there's always room for him to comeback. Something tells me we'll see the return of Adam at some point as well. Don't know about next weeks trailer, first impressions with church and the creatures reminded me of the Daemons. Update on my scorecard:- 01 Rose - 6.5/10 02 The End Of The World - 8.5 03 The Unquiet Dead - 8 04 The Aliens Of London - 6 05 World War 3 - 6 06 Dalek - 10 07 The Long Game - 7 Series average: 7.5/

Don't know about next weeks trailer' date=' first impressions with church and the creatures reminded me of the Daemons.[/quote'] Looks good to me. The creatures are called reapers and come to remove time anomolies created.... Using time travel to alter the past sounds like it could be a cracking story to me... :D

I think you need to watch again Pella (or buy some glasses) :) If you noticed the face of Boe, how could you miss the vocal and visual reference to 'The Bad Wolf Channel' which was telling the news story of The Face Of Boes pregnancy! :)
coolcat13
I agree that this was pretty run of the mill stuff .It certainly was not that weak though and you had to figure there would be a let down after Dalek I like the scorecard idea so ill borrow it and throw in my ratings 01 Rose - 7 02 The End Of The World - 8.5 03 The Unquiet Dead -9 04 The Aliens Of London - 6.5 05 World War 3 - 7.5 06 Dalek - 10 07 The Long Game - 8 average just over an 8 there was a certain amount of suspense but I think RTD could have used a classic enemy to amp up this story .imagine a cyberman controlling the information for example or the Master (although that may have to wait until next year after the Time War story is better known) just a thought
