I know that we deal here on Star Trek forum with a lot of science and egineering topics and I just wonder, how many of you are scientists and engineers, that includes people who are either studying, working and/or have education in these areas.

I, myself, am about to get an University Degree in engineering sciences and a title of an engineer, in about a year, year and a half. Finally after 5 years of hard studying. BTW, I'm studying maritime engineering.

What about you fellow trekkies?

Neither. I'm a marketer/broker/business owner hehe.

Although I started out studying to be a network engineer CNE, MCSE+I, all that crap. Later found that the whole comp sci job market hype was a lie. So now I am in something MUCH more profitable hehe. I could never think of working for someone else now, esp in any science/engineering job. We're not going into space anytime soon in a galaxy class starship to trade at DS9.. so I need to make money where it can be made. Buying and selling ON EARTH.

You too can earn $75,000+ per year in the comp sci industry! Just take our simple 2 hour course!!!

The catch is, it's only if you have 200+ yrs of experience.

Now that's marketing.

Hmmm, I'm Electrial/Computer Engineer....I've been a P.Eng. for a little over a decade now.

In most parts around here they want 4 years of experience as an EIT before you can have the title Engineer....back when I did it was still only 2 years, but it took me 3.5 years to get it.

Some of my friends from University actually do research in stuff that could make some of the science of Star Trek real....

Zapp: It was almost the perfect crime but you forgot one thing:

rock crushes scissors. [Ponders] But paper covers rock,

and scissors cuts paper. Kif, we have a conundrum!

Kif: [Groans]

Zapp: Search them for paper ... and bring me a rock.

I haven't a clue what I want to do for a career yet. I'm going for a degree in maths because it's such a useful subject in almost field.

Engineering sounds appealing, but it brings miserable memories of my shool work experience days in a mechanical engineering worksop - all the noise, chaos and bitterness is not good for an aspie lol.

I'm kind of interested in psychology, the depth psychology of Jung inparticular, but I can't imagine a career in it.

I guess I'm late to this party.

I've got a batch of degrees, and I'm not done yet. The closest ones to science would be a

B. Environmental Studies and a B.Sc., with pre-med., though I actually majored in Psych. I've always been interested in science, medicine, psychology, and just about every other subject on and off the planet. In fact, I'm still not sure what I'm doing, and probably never will be.

MSc(Comp. Sci) and BSc(Comp. Sci)

I've always been interested in Science (well except Mathematics! *L*)

I guess most people in my current field are either software engineers, analysts, programmers, system admins, help desk people or unemployed.

I've got another Bachelors and Honours in Biotech which I haven't really applied as yet (if ever).

Currently working on Dips in Management and Government.
