You might want to hit Unearthly Child and Daleks as they are the beginning of the thing. Then skip forward a bit.

Couldn't agree more. Eps 1 & 2 are a must; perhaps you can follow it up with episodes important to the development of the Doctor as a character and eps important to the main storyline eg daleks, master, rani etc; eps leading upto regeneration and subsequent changes in personality, companions etc. Hmm, that seems to cover just about all the eps :D

This is a truly brilliant idea. I was also wondering what was going to happen to the forums after this Saturday. Perhaps instead of one ep a week, perhaps you could cover two or maybe a maximum of three? Space them out over the week, I mean. I get d/l speeds of 10kbps (and I'm confident no one gets speeds worse than that) and even then a 350 MB d/l completes in about 12 hours .... so this would be very do-able, even for me.

Yaah! I've said this before and I'll say it again! Thanks, you guys, you are all wonderful and so is this site. Thanks Nite!

Doctor Who has never aired here and probably never will. My obsession with the series began with the Target books; I've only got to see it in the last 3 months courtesy of you and the BT network. Ra Ra Ra!

The great thing about Doctor who and Potato there illustrates it perfectly, by simply mentioning two classic episodes - there's more to talk about than just the new show, of course the new show is a stunning remake and a visual feast.

But the old shows had charm all of their own and there are still masses of things to discuss regarding the new show as well.

I don't think anything will happen to the forums as long as the community keeps itself together.

Well, yes as for the early days of Hartnell & Troughton Id only recommend for beginners, An Unearthly Child, The Daleks (perhaps Invasion of Earth too) The War Machines (as its back in London 1960's) then Tomb Of The Cybermen & War Games, then basically most of Pertwee, Baker & onwards with fan discretion as we go ahead!

Hi all, after a longish absence due to illness (not mine; but rather my wifes) I have returned. Ive been reading the back posts on this thread and RS that is a wonderful idea. I think that perhaps a good way to start would be to pick one or two truely defining episodes from each incarnation and rut those up over the course of a few weeks. This would be, I think, a great introduction for fans of the new who have never had exposure to the old. Then after people are hooked we start a run of a one or two episode per week in order releases skipping the recons unless there is just a huge demand for those. I think it takes a very devoted to fan to suffer through the recons.
