Cypha01
Sir Michael Grade is to blame for that my friend, who is now eating humble pie since Doctor Who 2005 has been such a success, he was openly 'adoring' the show in a public speech and when questioned about why he took it off the air his reply was something like: "An earlier incarnation of mine took it off the air, somewhat foolishly, but you live and learn...especially in Wales." Yep, ill allways be BITTER about that. Personally I think he owes us dr who fans an apology. He could of easilly helped the show out instead of canceling it, puting more money into it changing its ridiculous timeslot ect. :(
Fenriswolf
Yep. But at least now he's having to eat humble pie in a way, since he said that speech in Wales before a lot of angry-staring Welsh people. And trust me, the Welsh could win a staring match with a barn door. It's a clear case of a man who has realised what an idiot he looks now and he's probably kicking himself hard for actually cancelling it in the first place. howiepoohs
I found the latest Dr Who far too glib, I thought Paul McGann was superb, Slyvester McCoy awful (thats when the BBC were trying to axe the show I mean, a Bertie Basset monster? Please!), I really enjoyed Colin Baker, and Peter Davidson reminded me too much of all creatures great and small! Now I come to THE Daddy, Tom Baker. His dry whit and bohemian look and superb acting talent totally did it for me. Worzel wasnt too bad but was a bit dodgy him driving around in that yellow car and the other two were before my time really. Peter Cuishing was quite good as the old Grandfather type of Dr Who. coolcat13
well the best thing may have been it going into hiatus . The new Dr Who has some freshness to it and is a bit darker at times than it used to be . The show clearly has benifited from its down time all one really has to do is see the outstanding ratings the show has gotten . Here is to hoping that Dr # 10 can keep it going strong . cheers
Fenriswolf
There was a lot of angry Scotsmen when David Tennant didn't have a Scots accent I can tell you. So you might see some changes in the Doctor's voice and mannerisms in the next episode (Christmas Special) and of course the new series. Of course they could just ignore the ranting fans regarding that and keep him with that 'Barcelona' accent.
