I also think it was no mistake that they aired The Weakest Link directly before this weeks show.

And don't forget the new Dr Who Confidential special to be aired BEFORE the last episode next week.... 6.15 so set ya alarm clocks Now..!! ;)

I really do believe that these are teh same Daleks from the Time War. Perhaps they knew that the Doctor was the only survivor of his race' date=' and want to finish the job, before exterminating the rest of the galaxy. [/quote']

So why are they transporting humans to the edge of the solar system? for the view? just so the daleks can try out their lasers on humans....?

They would just kill the people with a disentigrator beam rather than transmatting them across the solar system.

Nope I stand by my original idea... its definately for experimentation and conversion to the new daleks... :p

Bad Wolf has me anxiously waiting for next week. The Dalek will either be Davros or the Emperor Dalek from the first Troughton story. Either way I am sure it will be great.

They only sad thing is that next week will will be the last episode for Eccleston, short of a regeneration scene in a future episode. :(

Holy WOW that was a splendid ep!

Ok, now I am going to go wwwaaaayyyyy out on a limb.

There's been an abundance of speculation about Adam or Davros (or Adam as Davros) being behind this all. Perhaps.

But I am going to make a different guess, based on almost nothing except a hunch, and the fact that it came to me when I heard that voice in the sneak peek for next week that said "They survived through me."

The Master.

I know... I know... nothing really points to the Master. And plenty points to Adam. I don't expect to be right, but the hunch is just burning me up. Adam was not evil. He was just excited about technology. The Master, on the other hand, is one opportunistic guy who may have seen a way to benefit from the Time War by saving the Daleks while the Time Lords perished. The Doctor had mentioned that he was alone... he could sense no other Time Lords, which would seem to shoot this wild theory down. But the Master has been out of regenerations for some time, and exists by stealing bodies, so perhaps... well, you get the idea. If they wanted to make this totally unpredictable, this would be a fine setup... get some speculation going, return us to Station 5 so we REALLY get the Adam connection stuck in our brains, and then WHAM! sic the Master on us :)

As an added bonus, if you look to classic who, the Master has been present very close to 3 of the Doctors regenerations... consider these episodes: Logopolis (and Castrovalva), Time and the Rani, and the 1996 FOX movie (ok, that is not classic who, but it is canon I think). Considering that we never met the Master until AFTER two regenerations have happened, and there have been 8 regenerations to date, that means he's been associated with 3 of 6, or 50% of the Doc's regenerations since he appeared.

The voice I mentioned earlier sounded Dalek-like, which would seem to shoot down my theory. BUT, suppose the Master, who is out of regenerations, is using Dalek technology to stay alive...

OK, OK. I just read in another thread that RTD said it won't be Fenric, the Master, or the Celestial Toy Maker. That really shoots more holes in my theory. Oh well.

Then again, if he meant none of those would be Bad Wolf, perhaps Bad Wolf is one character, and the Master is still... um. Ok. I am really grasping at straws here... hehe.

Thraxman I subscribe to your theory. It has real merrit .This is something that I believe .The misdirection by RTD in publishing the actors name with Davros next to it and Adam as well then the fact that Adam was not even in ep12 as the TV Tomes had indicated gives the Master theory lots of credability.

who would toy with the Dr like this if not the master . maybe Davros but it seems a little out of character for him

I aslo think that Davros is behind this/is bad wolf. It seems to fit in very well. Consider;

1)The Daleks have time travel technology, so he has the means.

2) Davros would be that vindinctive to go after the Doctor (constantly thwarting his plans, defeating the Daleks, destroying Skaro, wiping out MOST of thethe Dalek fleet in the timewar);, so he has motivation and has shown a desire in the past to defeat/humiliate/seek revenge on the Doctor.

3) In the Classic series, Davrofinally accepted that his Daleks wern"t the invincible creates he thought they were, and was beginning to tinker with them. Incorporating human DNA would make sense, as humans (in the Doctor Who series) seem to be quite good at suriving and adpating to new situations-just what the Daleks were supposed to be able to do.

Still, I can"t understand why Davros would keep Rose alive. That does seem to hint at "the Dalek".

..unless Micky is behind it all...

Look, it's ME NiteShdw talking in your Dr. Who thread!

With that out the way... what a fantastic episode. Great suspense, especially when we see Rose get transmatted. The acting was superb. I also loved the game show with Captain Jack, especially when he felt up the robot =)

Having no background in Dr. Who besides the current season (I've watched them all), it's hard for me to speculate about the next episode. I do hope that they conclude the show instead of leaving us on a cliffhanger, but judging from every other TV series ever produced, that's not going to happen.

I want to thank everyone that got me into watching Dr. Who. It's really a fantastic show (that's a word we don't use much here in the USA). Now, Dr. Who torrents dominate the site, so maybe I should change the LOGO from an Enterprise to a TARDIS :P (or better yet... a tardis flying past Enterprise!)

Ep13 potential - Was that Davros or was it the Dalek from Ep6?

My guess was that it's Davros, but if it's the Ep6 Dalek that adds some interesting loops.

Imagine Rose saves the last Dalek. That Dalek uses an inbuilt transmat instead of a self-destruct, finds itself a hiding place and begins rebuilding the dalek fleet with itself as supreme dalek.

Remember, all Dalek DNA would have to come from the original Dalek, who was contaminated by Rose's DNA - could explain why they didn't just exterminate her when they realised she was no use in getting the doctor to comply - or even lock her up...?

"FANTASTIC" hardly scratches the surface on this episode. I also came to the same conclusion as you and will be waiting anxiously until the next one is released. I'm glad the beeb has made another season of this SUPERB series.

P.S. Don't let the avatar tell you otherwise, but I'm also a fan of the Doctor as well.... and have been since the late seventies when I could watch it on our local public television station (oh, those were the days...)
