Well, i just finished watching DS9 on friday night. That was the best show i have ever seen and i really doubt that anything will ever compare. The time, work, creativity, and heart put into it is astonishing. There are no real words that can describe my feelings towards it. I am just very upset now that its over. I think i will have to watch it again.

Yeah, DS9 IS the best Startrek show ever made!

Well personally I prefered Enterprise, I thought DS9 was great, but I thought, like voyager it got off to a slow start, I found some parts of the earlier seasons, before the dominion war, rather dull, but thats just me....................................

I liked DS9 but the whole thing about the 'prophets' made it a little fantasy as well as sciefi. It stil made it interesting but if it was TNG, they would have investigated the worm hole aliens rather than leaving them alone. Especialy since they could have easily tipped the balance in the dominion war.

I think DS9 is awesome. It's the only series that I have bought all the DVDs for (especially since TV rarely repeats it).

However, the first couple of series do suck and with the quality of the later series being so high the filler episodes stink that much more.

Then you haven't watched Firefly.... :D

Hey..I'm a DS9 advocate!!

Still, I'd rate Firefly first, DS9 as the second best and Taken as the third best.

There is no accounting for taste - I thought Taken was OK, but nothing I'd ever watch again. I'm gonna suspend judgment on DS9 (it's been too long since I've seen it - it was great as I remember). TNG was great (just watched it and I'm jonesing for more Trek - All hail NiteShdw and the new DS9!!!) but it took them a few seasons (I'd say to the middle of 3) to really hit their stride!)

Enterprise season 4 was indescribably good (now I've proven to a significant number of you that I have no taste - which there's no accounting for)!

Very true. I liked the first half of DS9 more, with all the independant episodes. All that war was a bit too grim for me...

My favourite eps are Trials and tribble-ations, Little Green Men and Children of Time.

Why do men always like war and fighting so much???

If I would have to rank the series I would place TNG and DS9 on a shared first place, Voyager on the secound place and last Enterprice on third (I don't like enterprice since it dosn't follow the story line like the other series.)

I havn't seen the original series of Star Trek, but hope I will get around to it when I have the time.

For the opposite reason of why women life day time drama shows.

Well actualy, I thinkt he real reasons is that sooo many of us have watched star trek TNG come soooo close to a full all out war and then averted at the last minute with Captain Picard's diplomacy. And therefore many trek fans (which are mostly guys) wanted to see who would win if there was a war between the federation and a bigger foe.

But personaly I prefer TNG's stories and the science of trek. DS9 was exciting with its wars but then at some point it lost most of its "science" since it was 90% politics and shooting.

I didn't like the war and fighting so much as the longer arcs allowing more character development and breaking up of storylines.

I loved the character developments as well.

There is this one scene from 5x19 "ties of blood and water" when sisko brings the poisoned Kanar drink to dukat and tells him to drink it. After some exchange, Wayoun takes the cup and drinks all of it. I loved the expression on Dukat and Sisko's face. I must have rewinded it several times to see that. I couldnt get enough of that!!
