Landmark
Outpost Gallifrey have reported that a 3rd series has been commissioned. Billie Piper is going to be in all of series 2, but nothing is known past that. The Christmas special is called 'The Christmas Invasion'.

Fenriswolf
Well that's one thing we can truly say about Doctor Who, the new Doctors have always been unique in their own way - as different from the previous as was humanly possible for the series to portray. I have a feeling David Tennant will surprise most of us.

Fenriswolf
We might get a chance to see him if only for a brief moment tonight...*twitch*
Dprogo
Billie Piper is staying? and Jack? My worries are allayed (spelled right? don't even recall if that works in english...)... *sigh* I think if we have to lose Christopher at least David Tennant is an established actor of quality. I just hope he starts feeling comfortable with the role quickly, and does a fab job for more than one season. (it'd be a shame to see him pull just the one season, because though CE had good reasons (I seem to recall skin problems due to the intense work load, or am I confusing my self) I'll miss him). ^ that last paragraph, reading it in retrospect, was a bit too complicated for what it's worth. ;-) I'm done
Fenriswolf
David Tennant has said, the only reason he took on the role, since it had become a joke in the past -- is that Christopher Eccleston proved the role could be worth playing again, so we must thank Chris for not only giving us a new Doctor but another new Doctor as well.
